Larry Wirsing
Vice President, Aircraft and Product Development
Larry Wirsing is the vice president of Aircraft and Product Development at Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing Company. He is responsible for Aurora’s portfolio of aircraft development programs that are advancing the future of flight. Larry’s team collaborates with commercial and government customers to develop novel aircraft, integrate advanced technologies into new and existing aircraft, and support products in the hands of our customers.
He most recently served as the vice president of Commercial Programs, overseeing Aurora’s portfolio of commercially funded research and development programs. He has been leading program teams, programs, and the capture of new business since joining Aurora in 2010. His technical program management roles have included aircraft and technology development programs, autonomy technology demonstration and test programs, and composite research and development manufacturing programs. Prior to his extensive program management roles, Larry served as an embedded systems engineer and flight test engineer on Aurora’s Skate sUAS program from concept design through operational deployment.
Before joining Aurora, Larry was a propulsion engineering contractor for General Electric Aviation, where he worked on design improvements for combustor and turbine components on several turboshaft and turbofan engines. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University and previously interned for Aurora.
