Locations - Manassas, VA
Aurora's corporate, engineering and prototype fabrication offices are housed in two buildings at the Manassas Regional Airport, 30 miles west of Washington, DC.
Founded in Alexandria, VA in 1989, the company moved to the Northern Virginia airport in 1991 where more than 130 people work today.
In August 2006 Aurora dedicated its new Product Development Facility, with a 50,000 square foot facility almost doubling Aurora’s previous footprint at the suburban airport. The site houses the company’s Executive Offices as well as the Engineering, Tactical Systems, Advanced Concepts, and Aerostructures organizations. Among the aircraft development programs that are housed at the facility are the Orion HALL liquid hydrogen-fueled high altitude airplane, Aurora’s GoldenEye 50, GoldenEye 80 and Excalibur tactical systems.
A nearby building houses Aurora’s Ultra High Altitude Test Facility and a sea level propulsion test cell.
